The Rogue Taxidermy 2012 Biennial
For those of you who are more, er, adventurous, this is the can’t miss event of the weekend. Sure, it may not necessarily for those with weak stomachs or the uber sensitive, but this mixed-media art show features works by 25 of the most interesting artists working in the taxidermy medium today. The surrealists work showcased express each artist’s approach to and love of natural history and preservation. The show opens tomorrow, May 4 and runs though May 27. La Luz de Jesus Gallery, 4633 Hollywood Blvd., Los Angeles.
The Cahuenga Corridor Street Market
Created by artists for artists, the Cahuenga Corridor Street Market makes its debut this Sunday, May 6 in Hollywood. An assembly of creative minds will unite to celebrate art, fashion and music at Hollywood’s independent outdoor street market. Visit vendors and artists the alley space from the north end near 1640 North Cahuenga Boulevard and wander down to the south end of the EaCa Alley entrance. Surrounding areas will host pop up shops and additional art vendors in nearby spaces. This is the first Street Market hosted in the EaCA Alley, but is slated to be a weekly event.
