The last day of LA’s Britweek is upon us. If you missed out on any of the festivities, fret not. There’s still time to catch Marine Contemporary’s latest exhibit, “On the Horizon: New Generation British Painters,” but hurry! The show closes May 12.

Curated by Alexandra Ray, the exhibit showcases three distinctive painters currently living and working in London: Huge Mendes, Adam Dix and Robert Fry.

“Red 11,” Robert Fry

Mendes’ exquisitely rendered Obituaries: Whitney Houston and Obituaries: Steve Jobs (above), explores society’s ever-growing obsession with fame. Dix, meanwhile, focuses on the interplay between technology, communication and it’s audience. Fry, the third artist featured, is more abstract, reducing each of his subjects to basic elements.

“On the Horizon: New Generation British Painters,” through May 12, 1733 Abbot Kinney Blvd., Venice.
