Jeremy Mann at the John Pence Gallery
San Francisco-based Jeremy Mann is known for his hauntingly beautiful depictions of the City by the Bay. Mann paints surreal images of SF’s hustle and bustle atmosphere and has garnered positive attention from collectors and critics alike. June 29 – July 29; John Pence Gallery, 750 Post St., SF.
Wolfgang Ganter at the Eli Ridgway Gallery
German-born Wolfgang Ganter is making his way to the city this month with an eye-catching exhibit at the Eli Ridgway Gallery. His exhibit, titled “Informel Logic,” features images synthesized from 35mm slides that were once tossed away as trash and later recovered by the artist. The original images have been distorted and modified into captivating prints. The opening reception will be held June 30 from 4 to 7 p.m. The exhibit runs June 30 – July 28; Eli Ridgway Gallery, 172 Minna St., SF.
Strech & Expose at the SFAC Gallery in City Hall
Opened earlier this month, the San Francisco Art Commission’s latest exhibit celebrates the best of modern fine art screen printing. Featured artists including Erin Allen, Chelsea Wong, Paul Morgan and Jim Winters. Through August 27; City Hall, 401 Van Ness Ave., SF.
The Southern Machine Exposure Project
Not one for traditional art shows? Check out the The Southern Machine Exposure Project, an annual event that invites Bay Area art lovers into their “neighbors’ apartments, houses, backyards, and garages” to experience everything from physic readings to experimental music performances to workshops and beyond.
