You’re Invited to the Small Space Big Style Keynote: Lights, Camera, Action
Author:Sarah Virginia White“Lights, Camera, Action!” Once the provenance of powerful directors, those directives are within the grasp of mere homeowners who opt for stylish home technology systems. For CH+D’s premiere Small Space Big Style showhouse in Los Angeles, interior designer Christopher Kennedy created an artful, retro-chic living room—complete with chintz drapes—and used rolling solar shades from Crestron to provide both privacy and UV protection for his interior.

The neutral shades were wirelessly coupled with the room’s lighting and music systems, and while Kennedy didn’t take it this far, the Crestron technology can also integrate security, thermostat and television systems. A wall-mounted, 7-inch touchscreen is the main user control, but homeowners can use the system from any iPad, smartphone or computer. “Even I can figure it out, and I am no tech guy,” Kennedy says. “If you can work an iPad or iPhone, you can totally use this.”

Crestron’s 7-inch touchscreen control panel mounts nearly flush with the wall.
CH+D thought we’d like to gather the design team that made this technology come together in such an impressive way. Please join us on Thursday, September 20 at 2 P.M. for a lively discussion with designer Christopher Kennedy, Ami Wright (Crestron marketing director) and Eric Eidelman (President of Audio Video Interiors) as they discuss the fast-paced Small Space Big Style project. Afterwards, enjoy a post-panel cocktail party with sparkling wine and macaroons at the Crestron showroom. Reserve your spot here.
