Get Wild at David Brower Center’s 4th Annual Benefit Party

The David Brower Center is pleased to present The Wild, its 4th annual party and benefit. On September 28, 2012, the Brower Center will transform into an untamed habitat where nature takes over and there are surprises around every corner.

The Wild will feature performances from the critically acclaimed Extra Action Marching Band, which has been described by the San Francisco Chronicle as an “adventure in artistic chaos,” DJ Liam Shy, a longtime staple in the local electronic dance music community, as well as butoh, aerial performances and more.

The sustainable, minimalist spaces in the Center will be revamped to resemble a wild habitat, and the art of Laura Cunningham, focusing on native landscapes of California, will be featured in the Hazel Wolf Gallery.

The fauna need not go hungry or thirsty as Trumer Pils, Square One Organic Spirits, The Red Door Catering and Barefoot Wine will provide the food and drink. Tickets for the party are $25 and guests are encouraged to dress for a walk on the wild side.

The David Brower Center is a stunning LEED-Platinum rated building in downtown Berkeley, created to inspire environmental and social action and named for David Brower, the father of the modern environmental movement. The Center includes the Hazel Wolf Gallery for environmental art, a state-of-the-art green conference center and theater, and a home for dozens of sustainable organizations such as Earth Island Institute, Friends of the Earth, International Rivers, Center for Ecoliteracy, and the award-winning Gather Restaurant. In only three years since it opened, the Brower Center has been recognized with over twenty major awards and accolades from partners in government, the private sector, and the green community.
