Design Daily: Nate Berkus Crosshatch Tray for Target

Author:

The upcoming Nate Berkus collection for Target feels like a no-brainer, offering designer cred at bulls-eye prices. But the insane buzz leading up to the launch means expectations are high, so I was happy to spot a few hits in a preview of the 150-item collection that will be available at Target stores statewide in October.

My favorite is this fabric-covered tray in on-trend navy with graphic white crosshatching. At 18- by 13–inches, it’s large enough to corral your inbox craziness or just dress up your coffee table. The decorative sea urchins look great in the tray, but in white and brass finishes, they’re also versatile as paperback bookends, card placeholders or coastal décor for your bookshelves.

The Nate Berkus collection hits the website and store shelves October 21. Cross your fingers that Target worked out any website bugs (dare we even mention the Missoni meltdown of 2011 that ended in crashed servers and a slew of unfulfilled orders?).
