Dining Design Diary: Stylish Joints to Eat + Drink in HollywoodAuthor:Lindsey Shook
North Hollywood: New York’s famed Knitting Factory Entertainment is continuing to lay down tracks in California, most recently with Bow & Truss, a new tapas restaurant in the burgeoning NoHo Arts District. Designed by Beth Holden of New Theme Inc., the former auto shop now sports a showstopping central bar and a floor-to-ceiling retractable door that opens up into a spacious outdoor dining patio; 11122 Magnolia Blvd., LA, bowandtruss.com.
West Hollywood: Transformed from an old hardware shop into a hip New American eatery, Laurel Hardware is the second collaboration of designer Sam Marshall and chef Mario Alberto (of Gjelina). Marshall split up the space into separate seating areas, including wood-paneled booths wrapped in ombré wallpaper and a bar lined with vintage-inspired drafting stools. 7984 Santa Monica Blvd., LA, laurelhardware.com.
