The Looking Glass: Refraction through the Female Gaze at San Francisco’s Mirus Gallery is a new show filled with artwork by women artists, including Kimberly Brooks, Rachel Walker, and Claire Pestaille. Rather than traditional paintings and portraits of women, the artists in this exhibition show women in many different lights, such as hunters, movie stars, and ordinary people. Runs through March 2, Tuesday to Saturday 10am to 6pm, Mirus Gallery, 540 Howard Street.
Always wanted to design your own succulent planter but wasn’t sure how? The San Francisco Botanical Garden is hosting a Succulent Wall Garden Workshop to teach people how to create a living piece of art. Using diverse and colorful succulents grown in the botanical garden’s nursery, instructors will help participants design a planter in a wooden box to take home. The workshop is on February 23 from 10am to 2pm. San Francisco Botanical Garden, Golden Gate Park, entrance is at the corner of 9th Avenue at Lincoln Way.
