His style of sophistication with a little California-cool is a totally inspiration, making him an ideal Designer Crush Q&A interviewee!

1. Where do you currently live in CA and what’s your favorite thing about how you’ve designed your personal space?

I currently live in Beverly Hills. Designing my own home gives me the freedom to do what I want. The best thing about my home is that it’s comfortable and accommodates my lifestyle.

2. What’s your dream design project? Who would it be for (dead or alive)?

My dream project would probably be for a great art collector: someone who’s open to new ideas and collecting furniture as art.

3. In real life, what’s your favorite project you’ve completed to date?

My favorite project so far was a house I did in the Palisades. The homeowners were awesome and really “went with it.” They were receptive to new ideas and it was liberating to do some fun and crazy things.

4. You’ve been gifted a fabulously furnished dream home but can only bring one item from your current space. What would it be?

Favorite item: The Camaleonda sofa by Mario Bellini for B&B Italia.

5. What’s your creative process when designing a space?

The creative process starts by understanding what the client wants. It’s crucial to understand their ways of living and how they would use each space. This always starts the creative process and develops from there onwards.

6. Where do you score your favorite interior design items? Any shopping tips?

I find a lot of my pieces from those out-of-the-way stores that you wouldn’t expect would have anything. These hidden gems sometimes are places that I drive by everyday yet never had the chance to check out.

7. What project would you never take on again yourself?

Every project has its ups and downs and I’m constantly learning new things, so I wouldn’t say that there’s a project I regret taking on because each one has helped me grow in the world of design.

8. What new design trend are you excited to integrate into your next project?

One of the new design trends that I am excited about is computer generated fabric prints and wallpapers. The technology we have now days is amazing and the ability to create custom prints and patterns from your own computer is really exciting.
