The joint mastery of architect Nathalie Pozzi and game designer Eric Zimmerman, award-winning Interference is a massive installation to be unveiled for the first time in North America on October 2. As a strategic social game, players must work with other players (potentially strangers) from concurrent games – either by collaborating through negotiation or more cunningly through stealing the necessary pieces. Just as Interference’s concept is unusual, its platform isn’t like your standard Monopoly or Clue game board with a flat surface. Instead, players must maneuver on five thin, milled metal panels featuring a motley of organic patterns, vertically suspended from above. Opening reception: Oct 2, 8:30 – 10:30 p.m. Installation is open to the public on: Oct 5, noon – 4 p.m.; Oct 6, noon to 6 p.m.; Oct 12, noon – 6 p.m.; Oct 19, noon – 6 p.m.; Oct 26, noon – 6 p.m. General admission is free. Track 16 Gallery, 3571 Hayden Avenue, Culver City
