An Integrated Green Home

The Contemporary Prefab home designed and built by Stillwater Dwellings makes a sleek statement with its butterfly roofline and floating steel canopy. Installed 95% complete, the energy-efficient home uses natural light and an open floor plan to create an expansive feel. Landscape architect Josh Chandler extends the footprint further by integrating several outdoor entertaining spaces in the design, a bocce court and extensive fruit and vegetable gardens for sustaining living. A remodeled barn with upstairs guest quarters adds additional but private living space. Built for a smartphone generation, all lighting, security and media are controlled by the owner’s cellphone.

Scandinavian Sanctuary

Built in 2012, this modern farmhouse designed by architect Daniel Hale and interior designer Patricia Adrian-Hanson unifies the indoors with outdoors with themes of light, air and organic materials. Reclaimed redwood from the former lodge was bleached and repurposed as stylish kitchen cabinets and pocket doors.

The clean and minimalist design is softened by natural materials used in the décor such as linen, jute rope and fur. Follow the light outdoors to sweeping views and additional living space of lounging and dining areas, kitchen and pool, designed by Nancy Roche.
