The Superb 8: Mixture

Author:

The name really says it all. In their three-level, 8,500 square feet San Diego warehouse, Mixture houses an artful mix of all things modern.

Husband and wife owners Brumby and Misti Broussard opened Mixture 10 years ago, helping to establish a new Art & Design District in San Diego’s North Little Italy neighborhood. Through the years, the expansive showroom was built on exclusivity, carrying many sought after brands you won’t find anywhere else in San Diego.

Here are eight of our favorites from Mixture’s enticing collection:

1. A little mod and a lot modern, we’re itching to kick back on the 233 Sledge lounge chair by De La Espada. $1,715-$1,795

2. Delicate and striking from every angle, we’re in love with Jean-Marie Massaud’s indoor/outdoor Viccarbe Ad Hoc Lounge Chair. (Did we mention it’s also available in 24k gold plating?) $7,790-$9,022

3. Designed by Philipp Mainzer, the E15 Shiraz Sofa configures just the way you want it–celebrating a single room or creating organic spaces within spaces. $9,600-$28,520

4. The Artless Matchstick Coffee Table strikes the right balance of high design and modern whimsy. $965

5. A little vintage appeal can go a long way. Designed by Marcel Wanders, the Moooi Oblique Bookshelf offers the best in simple display. $1,817-$2,459

6. Conversation-starting, ultra-modern design aside, Michiel van der Kley’s Artifort Globus desk is surprisingly functional. Not that you’d want to do anything but display it, the space-saving design even closes and wheels aways. $11,081-$11,613

7. Wake up your floors with art underfoot. Any piece in the HZL by Henzel collection, including our favorite Unbearable rug, should do the trick. $4,440-$10,419

8. An abstract silicone shade with stainless steel base, the Arturo Alvarez Iki Lamp brightens a space in more ways than one. $1,695
