Bohemian Meets the Beach in VeniceAuthor:Marcia Prentice
A brand new bohemian lifestyle pop-up that just opened on Abbot Kinney in Venice, Figue is designed and accessorized by its founder, Stephanie von Watzdorf. She travels the world for inspiration and offers a curated assortment of limited-edition accessories from her extensive travels. Figue also carries a gypset fashion collection paired with home items such as Moroccan wedding blankets, hammocks, black and ivory poofs, and Figue candles.
The original Figue location is in New York City, but von Watzdorf adapted a new Venice location to have more of a beach/surfer feel because of its proximity to the ocean. The design is open and airy and mostly white with Mykonos blue touches. Moroccan lanterns are part of the store design (just like in the New York City location). Another important element of the design is having a sitting area where customers can just hang out.
It may be starting as a pop-up, but if everything is well received, a permanent store could be in their future. The pop-up is open through July 31, 2014.
Visit: 1301 Abbot Kinney Blvd., Venice, CA 90291 (310) 452-2959, open daily from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.
