Design Daily: Horsehair Collection from ApparatusAuthor:Sarah Virginia White
As a born-and-bred Texas girl, I immediately fell for the refined equine style of the new Horsehair collection from Apparatus.
Founders Gabriel Hendifar and Jeremy Anderson describe Horsehair, which debuted at ICFF during New York Design Week in May, as a material study evoking the strength and grace of the animal itself. I can’t help but agree, as I admire the collection’s muscular metal components and sleek physical warmth from the horsehair. I’d love them for adding texture to a minimalist environment—they posess a rustic, industrial heft that would layer incredibly well in an otherwise austere space.
The line is crafted from brass, etched glass and wefts of horsehair in shades of blond Palomino or ebony Jet, and includes designs for both a pendant and wall sconce. Have a variation in mind? The collection is also available in custom lengths and a few additional finishes, such as blackened brass or tarnished silver, and is available at Cavalier in San Francisco. Giddyup.
