Studio Schicketanz Revamps The Press Club In Seaside

Recently restored by the very famous Studio Schicketanz, the Press Club in Seaside, California at the Monterey County Weekly, comes complete with a juice bar, a performance space, art area, and sculpture garden. The new and improved version of the Press Club is an oasis for intellectuals.

Known for sustainability, they’ve replaced all windows and utilized the building’s existing 25 skylights and solar panels for a minimal environmental impact. Reclaimed wood and salvaged leather (taken from a warehouse affected by the recent Napa earthquake no less) are also staples in the redesign. Who knew highlighting natural light could be so perfect? Make sure you check this place out in person for the full effect.
