Tech Talk: Ikea Furniture Will Now Be Able To Charge Your Devices
Author:Lindsey ShookComing from the most unlikely of places, Ikea announced a major innovation this week at Mobile World Congress. Starting next month, they are planning to introduce their first line of furniture that will wirelessly charge your phone, tablets, and more using Qi technology. Making a huge leap forward for the box store brand, not only will tons of mobile devices be compatible with this wireless standard (there are also two other major charging standards at this time not compatible with this furniture), they’ll also be selling wireless charging kits, so you can hack your already owned Ikea pieces in a whole new way. Look for the new line of lamps, nightstands, desks, and more featuring this exciting new technology to hit North American stores in April and we’ll look forward to getting rid of cable mess one piece of furniture at a time.
