Resource Furniture

The experts in smart living (i.e. the folks credited for bringing the Murphy bed back in style) open the doors to their 1,800-square-foot brick-and-mortar this week with a sleek collection of multifunctional furniture ideal for small spaces. You’ll find transforming wall beds from Italian manufacturer Clei, plus multipurpose tables, space-saving seating, and home office solutions. Turn your eyes to the showroom’s ConcreteWall, which features the stunning line of tromp l’oeil wallcoverings by Norwegian photographer Tom Haga.

Bonita Center for the Arts

By our records, this $22 million project is the snazziest venue for K–12 students we’ve ever seen. Designed by Rachlin Partners, the state-of-the-art performing arts center features computer-operated sun louvers (solar shading fins that open or close to let in more or less light), a bold red circular stairwell as the building’s centerpiece, and an acoustic quality on par with world-renowned facilities. Add this to your list of must-see stops on a road trip inland from LA.

When: Check calendar for performance schedule
