The Agenda: The Avalon Palm Springs And American Craft Council ShowAuthor:Allison McCarthy
Earlier this year, Proper Hospitality took over The Viceroy property in Palm Springs, and now’s your chance to check out the revamp with the help of this off-season package. Round up the girls and rent a villa or suite to receive VIP cabana treatment during your stay. Take note of the refreshed rooms and common areas, courtesy of Kelly Wearstler, who put her stamp on the original hotel design.
Where: The Avalon Palm Springs, 415 South Belardo Road, Palm Springs
This is your annual chance to check out the best handcrafted design in the country, from jewelry and clothing to furniture and home decor. Returning by popular demand is Make Room: Modern Design Meets Craft, in which celebrated local designers and architects (Gustave Carlson, Anastasia Faiella, Jeni Gamble, and Kimball Starr) showcase beautiful room settings inspired by a fine craft item. This year’s theme: nature’s four elements—fire, water, earth, and air. And new to the lineup is Hip Pop, a pop-up of innovative wares by emerging artists.

Auberge du Soleil is celebrating its 30th anniversary in a big way, with redesigned maisons named Vence and Mougins. Whether you’ve got a room or not, head to Auberge this weekend for the first of what is planned to be an annual event. The property’s pool, typically reserved only for hotel guests, will open to the public for a sunset pool party. The latest celebration in Auberge’s Food of Place series, expect grilled summer favorites along with glasses of local rosé.
When: 6pm-8pm, Friday, 7/24
