Secrets to Getting Published
Back by popular demand is this session in which top editors share insights about what it takes to get your work published. Rue magazine’s founder and editor in chief Crystal Palecek will lead the all-star panel of magazine editors and published designers in a discussion about what magazines are looking for, how to pitch, and what to expect after a story is assigned. Panelists include Irene Edwards, editor in chief of Sunset magazine; Lindsey Shook, editorial director of California Home + Design; Zahid Sardar, editor in chief of Marin at Home magazine; and published interior designer Scot Meacham Wood. Discover McGuire’s New Collection with Nick Desario

A Marriage Made in Heaven
This is your chance to eavesdrop on a conversation between top real estate agents and interior designers as they share the secrets of their success. With the client the common connection, it’s the symbiotic relationship between these two parties that results in projects that meet all client goals. Josh Flagg, the celebrated star of Bravo’s Million Dollar Listing L.A. leads this insightful behind-the-scenes chat with Geoffrey De Sousa, co-founder of De Sousa Hughes and principal of Geoffrey De Sousa Interior Design, and Catherine Kwong, designer and principal of Catherine Kwong Design. Terroir and Tile
Take a trip around the world without leaving the Bay Area. In this interesting session—lead by Walker Zanger’s own vice president of sales Mike Bastone, who doubles as a sommelier—you’ll explore the links between terroir and tile. Translated as “sense of place,” the term terroir embodies the effect that place of origin has on the essence of a wine. Walker Zanger will take you on a journey through the regions that influence their collections, while you sip wines born of those same places. Taste a Pinot Noir from the region known for French limestone, the super reds of the Sienna silver travertine region, and classics from Spain paired with classic marbles.
