Save The Date: The 41st Annual America Council Craft Show at Fort Mason

Save the date for August 5-7 and head down to San Francisco’s Fort Mason Center to celebrate the 41st Annual American Craft Council (ACC). Recognized as the West Coast’s largest juried fine craft show, you can bring the entire family as the ACC features a number of educational and interactive programs as well as a selection of handcrafted jewelry, apparel, furniture and home décor by over 220 local and national artisans.

Intersecting craft with fashion and design, the ACC has developed specific programs throughout the weekend that will merge the worlds of design.

-Style Slam: This new program takes a deeper look at emerging fashion and style at the American Craft San Francisco Show. Four professional stylists/ style teams will show how handmade pieces are the perfect fit for any fashion-conscious wardrobe. Each stylist will choose their favorite items from fellow ACC apparel and jewelry artists and outfit mannequins and models, displaying some of the trendiest looks of the season. Furthermore, these style-pros will makeover show attendees and collaborate with Make Room: Modern Design meets Craft exhibitors to show the intersection between fashion and design. Participating stylists include: Creator[Conceptions], Betina Baumgarten of Best Foot Forward, Nathalie Chapron and Arlene Vieira.

-Make Room: Modern Design Meets Craft: Celebrating the symbiotic relationship between craft and design, this year’s Make Room showcase theme is “4 Directions.” Four designers and architects will create room vignettes inspired by fine craft that demonstrates the essence of style in the North, South, East, or West. Participating designers include: Andrew Mann of Andrew Mann Architecture; Leslie Shapiro Joyal of Shapiro Joyal StudioCreator [Conceptions]; and Alden Miller of Alden Miller Interiors.

-Let’s Make Inspiration Stations: This interactive initiative brings creation to life as top artists and industry experts let you get up and close to the creative process. From learning how to craft a piece of art to savoring thoughtfully produced artisanal food or sipping handcrafted beer, this experiential program is fun for the whole family!

-Hip Pop: True to its name, this program is a literal pop-up within the show that features the best and brightest emerging craft artisans.
