Author:Lindsey ShookOn September 15 and 16, California Home + Design and Coupar Communications kicked off the first annual DESIGN LIVE, a two day design summit on San Francisco’s Sacramento Street, presenting inspiration, celebrating talent and sharing ideas and opportunities amongst the Bay Area’s design community.
DAY ONE
Thursday began with a lively discussion led by Chairish CEO Anna Brockway, on what design trends are in and out. Panelists included; Cassandra LaValle of CocoKelley, Martha Angus of Martha Angus Inc, Jeff Holt of HEWN, Hillary Thomas of Hillary Thomas Designs, Nancy Evars of Evars + Anderson, Allison Bloom of Dehn Bloom and Benjamin Dhong of Benjamin Dhong Interiors.

The day continued with a very informative converstaion hosted by Paragon Real Estate Company around strategic home investments to increase the value. Moderated by Alf Nucifora of the Luxury Marketing Council of San Francisco, the expert panel included Ruth Krishnan of Paragon Real Estate, Julie Lloyd of Clive Christian Interiors, Jeffrey Smith of Michaan’s Auctions, Antonio Martins of Antonio Martins Interior Design and Josh Grout of Aaron Gordon Construction, Inc..

DAY TWO
Highlights of Day two included a complimentary hour of advice from designers Emilie Munroe of Studio Munroe, Regan Baker of Regan Baker Design, Holly Hollenbeck of HSH Interiors, Courtney Lake of Monogram Decor, and Cynthia Spence of Cynthia Spence Design on where to splurge and where to steal when designing.

The final design discussion on California’s Global design influence featured Bay Area design legends Ben Ospital of MAC, Paul Wiseman of The Wiseman Group, Amir Mortazavi, Founder of M-PROJECTS & Co-Founder of CANOPY, and Philip Wood. The day ended with a fun shopping stroll along Sacramento Street at the Cambria Pop-Up Gallery, Hillary Thomas, Baboo and Alyse Grace.
