Barclay Butera Shares Tips for Preparing your Home for Fall

With Labor Day Weekend celebrations behind us and the cool Autumn breeze making its debut, we asked design icon and California native Barclay Butera to share some tips on how to get your house ready for fall.
Layer Throw Blankets
“The easiest and most cost-effective thing you can do to transition your home into fall is by layering with throws. Making throws visible also creates a sense of warmth. And why not have easy access to a cozy blanket while snuggling up for a Netflix binge!”
Switch Out your Pillows
“Make small changes, like switching out pillows to bring in deeper tones, such as teal or navy. Mixing plaid prints, velvet and leather will also add an element of fall that can easily be done with accent pillows.”
Add Animal Print
“I am no stranger to animal print, and there’s no more perfect time to incorporate it than fall. You can add it to your bedding, rugs and even accessories or your tabletop.”
Accessorize
“Changing out your sea shells and coral accent pieces for moody accessories puts the final touch to a fall-inspired home. Use golds, deeper tones and of course, that pop of animal print!”
