dosa by DOSA Brings Mumbai Flavor to Uptown Oakland
Author:Michelle KonstantinovskyThe energy of Mumbai recently hit Uptown Oakland with the opening of DOSA’s new location at 2301 Broadway. dosa by DOSA brings modern twists on traditional Indian elements to the one-of-a-kind, century-old brick and timber building with high ceilings abundant natural light.
The restaurant is all about celebrating the quick, casual nature of street food, with an all-day bar and open kitchen. A wood clad hearth, vibrant color palette, and unconventional textures fill the space, along with two large mural walls commissioned from local artists.
The overall experience at dosa by DOSA is largely influenced by the location’s eye-catching layout. “The architecture greets you,” says Nick Polansky of Feldman Architecture. “Our focus was to make the space intuitive and give customers control over their own participation.”
dosa by DOSA is located at 2301 Broadway, Oakland, CA 94612. Lunch is served from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., seven days a week. Happy hour is from 5 to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and dinner is from 5 to 9:30 p.m. every night. Brunch is served Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
