Regan Baker Creates A Soft, Luminous Interior In Glen Park
Author:Philip FerratoIn a completely and recently renovated house in Glen Park, a young couple sought out designer Regan Baker to soften some edges and create a simple but warm, welcoming space for entertaining that could shift into family mode within a few years.
No build-out was required– the crisp renovation had covered all the bases, including an outstanding kitchen/family room (below) where the mural-like wall covering, a printed grasscloth from Phillip Jeffries, echoes the Bay Area’s hills and fog, frames the garden and draws guests in. Baker had the cabinets painted in Benjamin Moore’s Gunmetal.
A small sitting room at the entry will eventually serve as a family/play room and can be closed off with an acid-etched sliding glass door. The custom cane cabinet from Colonel was fitted to hold coats, boots and bags; the strongly geometric credenza provides additional storage and flexibility.
Pro Tip: Softy faded jewel tones create an interior that is both fresh and current, and manages to look lived in. Check out Regan Baker’s website for more inspiration.
