Hollywood At Home, Outside: The Outdoor CollectionAuthor:Abigail Stone
For the ten years it’s been on La Cienega, Peter Dunham’s Hollywood at Home has been sprinkling its signature, magical mix of comfort and chic over the city’s, indeed the country’s, best homes. Beautiful, saturated textiles (including Dunham’s line of all weather fabrics in dense designs), intriguing home accessories (don’t miss the Natan Moss lamps), choice antique furnishings and vintage-inspired made-to-order furniture add up to an inspiring and relaxing style that is equal parts world traveler and California coastal.
Given Southern California’s emphasis on indoor-outdoor living, it’s no wonder that clients have long clamored for Dunham to create easy care, in-stock pieces that would wash their gardens, pools, patios and backyards with this same sophisticated seaside ease.
Now, with Hollywood at Home’s new Outdoor Collection, their prayers have finally been answered.
Hand-crafted in Indonesia from high quality teak with a rich grain that more closely resembles fine oak, the collection includes adjustable loungers (with convenient sliding trays, that slip from one side to other, to hold drinks and cell phones), an oversized coffee table, a rocking chair, a sofa and two variations of Dunham’s iconic “How To Marry A Millionaire” chair in both dining and bar height (below). With their all-weather rush seats and backs, available in sand or charcoal, they’re almost indistinguishable from their elegant indoor counterparts. The popular oversized Formosa chair (that’s its delicately spindled back, pictured just above) also finds its exterior twin. In fact, given their easy-care durability, there’s plenty of use for these pieces in any part of the home — use the bar stools at the kitchen counters, the dining chairs around a breakfast nook, the rocking chair in a baby’s rooms — where wear and tear and mess are facts of everyday life, but beauty and sophistication cannot be compromised.
Continuously in stock and shipped from the store’s Culver City warehouse, the pieces can be delivered cross-country within two weeks (or in a matter of day if picking up in Los Angeles). The chairs, barstools and side table qualify for free shipping. For the full collection, see here.
