It’s A Modern, Modern World: The Palm Springs Modernism Show & Sale

Opening next Friday, October 19th and running through Sunday, October 21st, the fifth itineration of The Palm Springs Modernism Show & Sale – Fall edition promises to be their largest fall show to date with 46 exhibitors including several who’ve only shown in the Spring show. Showcasing important 20th and 21st century objects, furniture, art and design and produced by Dolphin Promotions.

 

The dealers making their first appearance at this year’s show include: ArtLink International (of Lake Worth, FL), Lisa Cliff Collection (of Los Angeles CA), Den (of Los Angeles, CA), McGeorge Art Prints (of Santa Clarita, CA) and Peter Blake Gallery (of Laguna Beach, CA). Among the returning dealers are Artexture (of Los Angeles, CA), Rick Petteford (of Sebastopol, CA), Silk Road Modern & Oriental Rugs (of Beverly Hills, CA), Off the Wall (of Los Angeles, CA), Archive 20th Century (of Costa Mesa, CA), Red (of Phoenix, AZ), Bridges Over Time at the Palm Springs Art & Design Gallery, and Kenneth Stern (both of Palm Springs).

With Hennessey + Ingalls, the largest art, architecture and design bookstore in the western United States, returning as the Show’s official bookseller, they’ll also be plenty of book signings, including Doug Meyer, who’ll sign his new book “HEROES: A Tribute,” which pays homage to the brilliant creative figures such as Robert Mapplethorpe, Keith Haring and Rudolph Nureyev, who were among the first to succumb to AIDS and AIDS-related diseases.

A festive Opening Night Party and Early Buying Preview Reception benefiting Modernism Week will be held Friday evening, October 19 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., offering attendees a chance to shop the show before it opens to the general public. 

The show will take place in Oasis 1 room at the Palm Springs Convention Center, located at 277 North Avenida Caballeros in Palm Springs, CA. The show hours are Saturday from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Tickets are $15, include return entry all weekend, and may be purchased at the door.
