Summer Camp-Inspired Carmel Valley Ranch Gets a Refresh

Spanning 500 sunny acres of California’s Central Coast is Carmel Valley Ranch, a summer-camp-inspired resort that recently debuted a resort-wide refresh focused solely on the pursuit of play. With new additions including The Market and Creamery — interactive spaces with artisan treats, products, tastings and programming in the main lodge — the destination features revitalized guest suites with smart-room technology, renovated meeting/event rooms and facilities, golf clubhouse updates, and a new reception lobby and boutique at Spa Aiyana.

The Market highlights the work of artisans like the property’s master gardener, beekeeper, fisherman, and more, hosting demonstrations and tastings. Guests can put together a picnic basket from the plentiful treats, grab an espresso, choose from a selection of wine and beer, or sample honey from the famous beehives. At the adjacent Creamery, milk from The Ranch’s goats is transformed into cheese and take part in pop-up tastings, pairings, and demonstrations from resident cheesemaker Charlie Cascio.

The all-suite accommodations were inspired by the textures and colors of the surrounding landscape with highlights including enhanced interiors with new furnishings crafted by local artisans, dining nooks that complement the elegant living room areas, and private decks for guests to enjoy the view. Guest suites also feature new smart-room technology along with temperature and lighting systems that allow guests to personalize their experience.

The Carmel Valley Ranch Golf Clubhouse features sweeping views of a Pete Dye-designed course and the valley, as well as a large patio with fire pits and seating. And guests can’t miss the eye-catching new reception and boutique at Spa Aiyana where they can sample organic, luxury skincare products from Arcona Los Angeles and HydroPeptide and browse products, swimwear, accessories, and more.

The refreshed indoor event spaces incorporate the natural textures and colors of the Carmel Valley, combining with outdoor venues like the Organic Garden and the Vineyard Lawn which offer nearly 10,000 square feet for meetings, weddings and celebrations. And boredom isn’t an issue at the resort where group activities include beekeeping, falconry, night golf, hilltop yoga, the “Amazing Race”-inspired Ranch Race, and more. You can even drop your kids off at the Little Ranchers day camp- a perfect solution for any family vacation!
