Thompson Hotel Opens in Los Angeles

The latest addition to the area? Hyatt Hotels Corporation’s Thompson Hollywood, the luxury lifestyle hotel situated on nearby Wilcox Avenue.
The new 11-story hotel features 190 mid-century-inspired guest rooms, including 16 suites, a dining concept from LA-based chef Lincoln Carson and Bar Lis, a destination rooftop lounge and pool offering sweeping city views. Owned by Relevant Group in collaboration with Steinberg Hart for architecture, the hotel’s interior design comes courtesy of Tara Bernerd & Partners, with Ten Five Hospitality overseeing food and beverage.
A trellis-covered walkway lines the path to the greenery-filled lobby decorated in mid-toned timber. The custom terrazzo floor features an intricate metal inlay pattern that complements the mid-century and contemporary furniture, bespoke Tara Bernerd & Partners rugs and terrazzo reception desk while the lobby bar is topped with retro-green onyx.
The guest bathrooms walls and vanities are finished in terrazzo which contrasts the pale-tiled floors, and feature exclusive D.S. & DURGA amenities. Amenities include an honor bar containing various curated selections, Egyptian cotton linens, 55-inch smart televisions, and a state-of-the art 24-hour fitness studio. The property features two food and beverage experiences created and operated by Ten Five Hospitality: the Martin Brudnizki-designed signature French brasserie, Mes Amis, and Bar Lis, a French Riviera-inspired rooftop lounge.
Helmed by celebrated chef Lincoln Carson, Mes Amis (French for “My Friends”) is inspired by cafés and brasseries from Paris to Lyon and the menu reinterprets classic French dishes with an approachable bent, using fresh produce and ingredients from local farms and markets, including the Hollywood Farmers’ Market.
Bar Lis is designed by Bernadette Blanc to be a chic but unpretentious destination capturing the spirit of the Cote D’Azur. Serving cocktails and fresh bites of locally sourced seafood, crudité and authentic bistro classics, Bar Lis offers unobstructed views of the Hollywood Hills, including the Hollywood sign.
