Next Stop: Napa
Author:Anh-Minh LeHotelier Avi Brosh has brought his singular approach to hospitality to Napa Valley. His fifth Le Petit Pali, which debuted in St. Helena last fall, delivers the best of both worlds: the serenity that comes with being nestled on three acres surrounded Napa by vineyards, as well as proximity to the town’s myriad attractions. Freemark Abbey winery is directly across the road, while Main Street—dotted with charming shops and restaurants—is just a five-minute drive. (Or borrow a hotel bike and pedal to the downtown thoroughfare, passing more esteemed wineries along the way.)

A tree-lined driveway leads to Le Petit Pali, where check-in and dining happen on the ground level of the Main House. The building also contains 14 of the property’s 24 guest rooms. Five standalone cottages with private patios provide more space to stretch out. The interiors enchant with Le Peti Pali’s signature shades of green, which serve as a frequent backdrop for a mélange of florals, stripes and checks. Meanwhile, the beautifully landscaped grounds feature a pool and a spa deck, a sun terrace and a garden bar.

Palisociety, Brosh’s boutique hospitality company, launched its Le Petit Pali bed-and-breakfast brand in 2023 with two outposts in Carmel-by-the-Sea; Los Angeles’s Brentwood neighborhood and Laguna Beach followed. Social hours and special programming are typical. In St. Helena, for example, the lawn hosts Namaste in Nature yoga sessions and Croquet & Spritzes. The on-site culinary offerings, whether the complimentary champagne continental breakfast or delectable bites available later, include local makers and purveyors.

English muffins from the beloved Model Bakery, an Oprah Winfrey favorite whose flagship is on Main Street, are a perfect way to start the day. And with such easy access to so many activities—from wine tastings and Michelin-starred dining at Press restaurant to lounging by the hotel pool and enjoying the sunset on the terrace—it gets even better from there. As St. Helena turns 150 this year, the wine country destination continues to charm with ever-growing reasons to visit.
