“Shapes from the Heart”

On July 14, the San Francisco Heath Ceramics’ showroom opened Japanese artist Akio Nukaga’s annual ceramic show—Shapes from the Heart—featuring a collection of totemic, geometric forms that feel like architectural, traditional Japanese wooden dolls. “Out of all the pottery techniques, throwing on the wheel is the one that is closest to my heart,” says Akio Nukaga. The exhibit with Heath’s longtime collaborator will be open through July 21 inside the showroom located at: 2900 18th St, San Francisco.
