A Classic In Outpost Estates Re-Scripted By Darren Cardona, $6.3M

Author:

Perched on the edge of a canyon in one of the Hollywood Hills most desirable neighborhoods, this 5-bed, 7-bath home was recently remade from top to bottom by designer Darren Cardona. Outpost Estates was developed in the 1920s, when Spanish Revival design was the rage, with white stucco and tile roofs set along twisting roads and panoramic views.

Taking Spanish Revival to a 21st Century level, Cardona brought classic details to what had been a very tired house (originally built in 1990) with wrought iron railings, wide plank oak floors, a spiral stair and beamed ceilings. The setting is  matchless as well, with wide-ranging views and perfect access to outdoor spaces; entertaining spaces on the main floor are open, airy and flow together seamlessly

What We Love: Chic details, especially the mitered stone work details (Neolith or marble, depending on the application) in the master suite baths and fireplaces, plus the way the Cardona framed the panoramic views with black steel windows instead of the default glass wall.

One of the pair of master suite baths, below.

There’s a vast lower level family/media room stretching almost the length of the house.
