Jeff Schlarb Curates a Noble Nob Hill Penthouse

Interior designer Jeff Schlarb has a way with the mix, an adroit hand with what might seem like disparate elements, and in lesser hands, chaos. His newly completed penthouse project at the new Crescent Nob Hill is both intelligent and eclectic, taking advantage of a spectacular setting on the edge of Nob Hill with an iconic view of downtown San Francisco.

“We took inspiration from the big skies, the big views of the city and we wanted to build an interior romance combining the two. We love these soft colors that are so easy and so inviting, and then we added dramatic light fixtures, wallpaper with personality, custom furnishings, and eccentric artwork.  All of a sudden you have yourself a most unique home, in turn, to be inspired by from within,” notes Schlarb.

The living/dining area is graced by the appropriately named Serenity wallcovering from Philip Jeffries; the cocktail table is vintage, from 1stDibs; the pendant fixture in the seating are is from Entler Studio, and over the custom sofa is a ribbon work by Angela Chrusciaki Blehm, represented by the Liz Lidgett Gallery; John Rosselli’s Mia chandelier from Visual Comfort hangs over the dining table. The pair of vintage lanterns in the kitchen are also from 1stDibs. Wallpaper in the master suite below is Cloud Sky by Emma Hayes.

We’re always working to understand and deliver an interior that amplifies lives.  We aim to truly discover what will be comfortable, constructive, comforting and/or exciting for our clients. Sometimes we need a home to give us peace, sometimes a home needs to give us vibration. Many times there needs to be both in each home, a place for rest and a place for action,” the designer notes.

The Crescent Nob Hill is by the global developer Grosvenor, which commissioned the renowned architect Robert A.M. Stern to design a luxurious condominium project for this spectacular but challenging site with sweeping views, and the result is one of Stern’s most graceful urban projects. Units at the Crescent are expected to come on the market in Summer, 2020, represented by Compass; the penthouse is for sale unfurnished at $7.1M.
