Echo Park Aerie By Jordens Arkitekter, $2.425M
Author:Philip FerratoIn their first Los Angeles project, the deeply eco-conscious Swedish firm Jordens Arkitekter sought, as per the listing “To bridge the gap between global and local, analog and digital—while creating a living environment that would breathe and live in harmony with its inhabitants.” And so, they created a poured concrete plinth that supports a compact but elegantly crafted dwelling hovering above Echo Park, with a sweeping view of the neighborhood.

What We Love: Superbly detailed within a very limited palette, it recalls the equally minimalist Douglas fir interiors of William Wurster from the 1940s. Plus the bathrooms are impeccable.
