Save the Date: An Afternoon with Architect Chad OppenheimAuthor:Lindsey Shook
On Wednesday July 31, Blu Dot will welcome guests to their showroom on Valencia street for an in-depth discussion with Cooper Hewitt National Design Award recipient and principle of Oppenheim Architecture, Chad Oppenheim on his new book, Spirit of Place.
Hosted in partnership with AIASF, Center for Architecture + Design and California Home+Design, the lecture will also explore Oppenheim’s designs for notable artists and film professionals including Producer Director Michael Bay and musician and producer, Pharrell Williams. Based in Miami, the firm’s award-winning architecture celebrates the natural world and the inherent power of each site. “For thousands of years, civilization has constructed its buildings on the land,” notes Oppenheim. “We prefer to construct our buildings with the land, where architecture recedes and becomes a frame.”
When: July 31, 11:30am-1pm
Where: Blu Dot – 560 Valencia St – San Francisco, CA 94110
