I wasn't lying when I said I'll be doing it up big this Mother's Day (May 9th, if you haven't gotten your act together), and along with my ultimate gift extravaganza I've been on the hunt for the perfect card to convey my love for my mama.

The amount of local design talent throughout California is truly vast, but opportunities to see these artists and their work up close and in person–as opposed to over the interwebs–are far harder to come by.

Forget Chateau Marmont, the newest place to see and be seen is the historic Hollywood Tower apartments.

The showcase house is almost open and a bevy of designers have been rushing to add the finishing touches to their stunning rooms.  From all the wonderful designs we are featuring a few of our favorites here. 

I spend most of my time thinking up ways to feather my house–why not spend some of that energy on the other homes occupying my little slice of the world? No, I don't have a family of squatters out back, and I doubt my neighbors would appreciate any unsolicited advice on their decor.
