Out on the Town: Jeff Andrews Celebrates His New Book, “The New Glamour: Interiors With Star Quality,” With A Party In Los AngelesAuthor:Abigail Stone
Jeff Andrews’ new book, “The New Glamour: Interiors With Star Quality,” is an instant classic, full of stunning photos and ingenious tips. No surprise then that the party celebrating its publication, orchestrated by event planner David Rodgers of David Rodgers Inc., was a sophisticated and stunning affair set against the backdrop of one of Los Angeles’ most beautiful restaurants.
Angelenos have long loved Jar, a chophouse in the heart of the city that dazzles with Chef Chef Suzanne Tracht’s elevated take on retro classics. For the Wednesday night party, co-hosts Andrews and Mansour Rug’s Benjamin Soleimani took over the entire space. A DJ booth in the corner pumped out classic hits, from Madonna to Janet Jackson and Prince, setting the dance floor alight. Overscale flower arrangements by Joseph Free and oversized photos from the book adorned the luxurious venue.
Top editors and titans of the design scene — including our own Brand Director and editor-in-chief Lindsey Shook, Elle Decor’s editor-in-chief Whitney Robinson, House Beautiful editor-in-chief Joanna Saltz, plus House Beautiful’s Style Director Robert Rufino and Hadley Keller, Interiors magazine editor-in-chief Erika Heet , Town & Country magazine’s Olivia Martin, Hearst’s Bill Pittel, Joanne Medeiros, Lauren Corbin and Kailin Villamar, interior designers Chris Barrett, Kerry Joyce, Suzanne Kasler, Gary Hutton, Oliver Furth, and Philip Nimmo — were among the more than 120 guests who toasted the designer-turned-new-author.
Also in attendance were many of Andrews’ collaborators. In addition to Benjamin Soleimani, Gloria Soleimani and Mansour Soleimani of Mansour / Mansour Modern for whom Andrews has created a collection of rugs, there were: Ralph, Rita and Spencer Rudin of A. Rudin, for whom he’s designed furniture; Los Angeles-based ceramicist Heather Levin, who’s created many pieces for his projects; and, Rachel Janowitz of Scott Group Studio and John Hart, CEO of Scott Group; noted interiors photographer Grey Crawford, principal photographer for the book, celebrity and interiors photographer Stephen Busken, portrait photographer for book and Andrews’ book agent Jill Cohen.
“What an amazing night celebrating glamour on every level with people I love!,” says Andrews, “It was the perfect way to celebrate the labor of love that is my first book, The New Glamour, and I was touched to be joined by so many friends and industry colleagues.”
