A New Reason to Meet in Wine Country, The Grange at The Farmhouse Inn

Already a destination with a Michelin Star restaurant and stylish farmhouse-style accommodations set amongst 10 acres of wooded property and prime Pinot Noir country, The Farmhouse Inn lures further with their new gatherings spaces inspired by period granges, meeting lodges for farmers and neighbors. Designed by Healdsburg’s Myra Hoefer Design, the spaces are charming and cozy for family and friend gatherings, at the same time fully-equipped and furnished for comfortable and relaxed team-building events or retreats.

With a history going back to 1873, two original turn-of-century workers’ cottages were re-imagined for groups in modern agricultural style, light and fresh with vaulted open beam ceilings, white-washed wainscoting and French doors. A doubled-sided fireplace and reclaimed barnwood flooring add warmth. A true getaway with an intimate feel and 25 rooms spread among cottage and barn rooms and suites as well as main farmhouse guest rooms, the inn offers a full-service spa and the Michelin restaurant for dining or catering. 7871 River Road, Forestville in Sonoma

At the intimate, 29-room, two and half acre bucolic Sonoma property, Kenwood Inn & Spa has reopened its spa after a 21-month hiatus for remodeling by SALT + BONES. The new spa reflects Carmel designer Carissa Duncan’s lush minimalism and emphasis on the sensual, creating a perfect setting for restoring the soul.

Adjacent to the outdoor swimming pool, hot tub and semi-private cabanas, the new spa features three individual treatment rooms, a couple’s treatment room, private terrace and luxurious indoor tub with vineyard views for bath treatments. With the reborn spa, Kenwood Inn offers a range of new experiences like a three-hour couple’s Rendezvous Under the Stars, a rest-inducing Gravitas Massage & Rest Bath Cure, to a poolside Mimosa and Mini-Massage.

Each of Kenwood Inn’s rooms have separate entrance and include complimentary breakfast and afternoon wine and cheese. 10400 Sonoma Highway, Kenwood CA 95452

The latest addition to the Rail Arts District’s collection of large-scale artwork is completing this month by street artist and local Napa native ELLE whose works have exhibited at London’s Saatchi Gallery, Berlin’s Urban Nation Museum and the New Museum in NYC. ELLE’s Napa mural being painted on all four sides of a 60-foot train car depicts portraits of women against vibrant colors and patterns inspired by Mexican art, folklore and textiles.

The Rail Arts District is a cultural corridor of outdoor contemporary art, landscaping and parks along two miles of railway beginning from the Oxbow District northward along the Napa Valley Wine Train route and Napa Valley Vine Trail pedestrian and bike path, transfixing the surrounding semi-industrial and neighborhood in its path. A map of the Rail Arts District is available on the RAD website.

To commemorate the new work, the Oxbow School + RAD are presenting a free artist talk at The CIA at Copia Theater on September 14 from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. called “Coming Home: Napa Native, Street Artist ELLE, on her Journey Around the World and Back Painting Murals.” The CIA at Copia is located 500 1st Street, Downtown Napa
