Shop From Home with Joe Lucas of HarbingerAuthor:Lindsey Shook
Industry leader, designer and founder of LA and NYC showroom Harbinger, Joe Lucas is known for his vibrant designs and personality. His work at Lucas Studio is filled with exuberant color, prints and textures, unique upholstery, super hip lighting and handmade ceramics.
We asked Lucas to share how he is filling his time during the quarantine and which five fantastic new finds from Harbinger should be on our radar.
–Which movies do recommend designers watch for interior design inspiration? I am in love with anything from Merchant Ivory Productions. Other top favorites include Call Me By Your Name, A Single Man and The King’s Speech.
-With all the TV anchors broadcasting from home, who do you think needs a home makeover the most? Former RNC Chair and MSNBC contributor Michael Steele.
–What is your cocktail of choice this week? We have been switching it up daily. But our go to top three are: – Vesper (1 part Vodka, 3 parts Gin, 1/2 Lillet Blanc)
-Gin Martini (3 oz gin, 1/2 oz dry vermouth, 1 Lemon twist)
-Negroni (1 orange, 1 1/2 oz gin, 1 1/2 oz sweet vermouth, 1 1/2 oz Campari, top with sparkling water)
–Share your COVID-19 playlist.
We are old school and always fall back to our favorite Carly Simon channel on Pandora or Spotify. But yesterday we had on Kenny Rogers all day, RIP!
–How is Harbinger working with designers right now to help fulfill orders while working at home?
While both our NY and LA Harbinger teams are working from home, they are still taking orders and helping clients through email and Instagram. We have been posting inventory on the instagrams as much as we can. And if anyone needs a FaceTime tour of the showroom just reach out to me and I can set that up. We also recommend designers spend time shopping on all of our vendors’ websites and then send us a list of samples needed or pricing and we will work on that asap! Our goal is business as usual, just without our smiling faces in front of you.
-Share five new products at Harbinger designers should know about?
